News from PAF

A CALL FOR SUPPORT

In March 2020, PAF had to close its doors. After a period of global uncertainty, we carefully reopened in the summer. Since then PAF has proven to be a covid-safe, and pleasant place for work, thanks to its abundance of facilities.

However as an autonomous space with no subsidy or funding, PAF usually relies on large gatherings and groups –which have been impossible for over a year– and covid measures have made costs in the house higher.

In short, there is not enough income to pay for PAF's expenses, and we have accumulated debt. To make bridging this period possible, we need support.

We aim to collectively gather 30.000 euros / 2.500 euros a month, which would allow PAF to cover part of its basic costs for this year. This is why we call for the support of all those who at one time or another have enjoyed PAF.

You can contribute with:

PAF is currently open at reduced capacity, welcoming visitors and small groups who want to work and exchange in a concentrated atmosphere. Once travel restrictions are alleviated, PAF remains a wonderful site for individual stays and mid-scale gatherings. Do not hesitate to contact us if you are considering coming.

⚠️ PAF IN TIMES OF COVID

PAF has implemented several measures regarding COVID-19, which we ask you to read carefully. Some of those come as rules, others as collective responsibilities.

As part of an ever-changing community we expect visitors to show responsibility not only toward PAF but also regarding the population of the surrounding village of St. Erme. We would like to avoid becoming a cluster of a new outbreak.

Find hereunder the most important measures, but please check with others after your arrival about the current situation in the house.

We ask for a negative test before arrival, even if you are fully vaccinated
We ask you to get tested even if you are already fully vaccinated, given the new variants.
We ask for a minimum stay of 4 nights
This aims to lower the circulation of people and also makes it easier to distribute the needs of PAF.
Please minimize your risk in advance
Since test results do not account for the potential exposure from recent contacts, we highly encourage you to minimize any exposure risk in advance of your visit.
COVID-19 Symptoms
In case you experience symptoms during your stay, or a recent close contact of yours has tested positive, please let people know as soon as possible! PAF will provide a protocol, including the possibility of isolation and quarantine. You can always reach out through contactpaf@gmail.com or +33 7 88 43 86 32.
Donations
We are always in need of COVID supplies, and invite you to bring masks and self-tests for donation.

Testing facilites

You can find different pharmacies/tents in Paris (near all the train stations including Gare du Nord (see here), and in Laon (Grande Pharmacie Lannoise, in Carrefour; Pharmacie de la Cité, and Pharmacie Lécuyer) and get the results in less than 20 minutes.]

For test in St. Erme, there's the pharmacy across the gare and a place across from the intermarche in St. Erme.

IMAGINING THE FUTURE OF PAF

A google drive is available as a collective and remote working space for the continuation of the work begun at the WINTER UPDATE MEETING 2017, which was dedicated to reimagine the future of PAF.
